The Doctrinal Significance
of the Deleted Portions of Holy Scripture
"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."
Matthew 17:21
Doctrine Affected: |
Prayer and Fasting |
This deletion affects the doctrine of Biblical "prayer and fasting." The great secret of power over demons is excised. The NIV drops this statement of supreme importance to a tiny footnote, with no reason given for the robbery, except
"(20) Some manuscripts you. (21) But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."
NASB brackets vs 21. A marginal note reads; "Most ancient mss. omit this verse." No wonder some do - satan hates this verse! If this note is as deceptive as that marginal note for Matthew 18:11 forget it.
"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."
Matthew 18:11
Doctrine Affected: |
The Incarnation |
NIV again reads, in a tiny footnote:
"(11) The Son of Man came to save what was lost."
Here the doctrine of 'the incarnation of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ' is rudely stripped of the primary reason and purpose for which He came. The omission opens the door for the insertion of "doctrines of devils" in other portions of the scriptures.
The NASB, as usual, brackets this priceless gem of Holy Scripture with the same deceptive marginal note as given for Matthew 17:21; and thus quietly, by means of brackets, prepares for its complete removal by future scholars.
We read with amazement the gross deception:
"Most ancient mss omit this verse."
Let a world class scholar correct his erring juniors. Re Matthew 17:21 "This precious verse ... is expunged by our revisionists; although it is vouched for by every known uncial but two (Vaticanus and Sinaiticus), every known cursive but one, (Evan. 33); is witnessed to by the Old Latin and the Vulgate," - he adds 6 versions in different languages, at least 13 of the church Fathers - "having been read in all the churches of Oriental Christendom on the 10th Sunday after Pentecost from the earliest period."
WHY was this omitted by Westcott and Hort from their mutilation of the Scripture in their revision of 1811?
Because - "For no other reason, we answer, but because Drs. Westcott and Hort place them among the interpolations which they consider unworthy of being even, 'exceptionally retained in association with the true text' ... "
John W. Burgon. Revision Revised p. 91-92
With reference to the omission of Matthew 18:11 Burgon continues; regarding the reading.
"It is attested by
Every known uncial except Vaticanus, Sinaiticus and L.
Every known cursive except three,
Eight ancient language versions,
Ten of the Church Fathers,
The Universal Eastern Church,
It has been read in all the assemblies of the faithful on the morrow after Pentecost, from the beginning.
Why then have the revisionists expunged this verse? We can only answer as before. -
Because Drs. Westcott and Hort consign it to the limbus of their Appendix: They class it among their 'Rejected Readings' of the most hopeless type."
Revision Revised, p. 92
The foregoing rather lengthy presentation reveals the clearly deceitful nature of the Westcott-Hort deletions, and provides us with a clue how it is that a presumably sincere group of scholars working on modern version have been so deceived by admittedly deceptive means used by Westcott and Hort, that they find themselves floundering around in the scholarly ditch of error, along with the real culprits, whose vicious pen knifing of the scriptures, they accepted at face value, many of them being absolutely ignorant of the fact that they were simply repeating doctrines of devils.
For the remainder of this essay only the omission and their biblical implications will be given.
"If any man have ears to hear let him hear."
Mark 7:16
Doctrine Affected: |
Spiritual Defilement |
This verse emphatically underscores the importance of the preceding verse 15.
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Our examination of this verse reveals the fact that it is a Holy Spirit given corrective of "Doctrines of devils," namely the teaching that the eating of certain foods is defiling.
1Timothy 4:3-5
3) Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4) For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5) For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer
Acts 10:13-15
13) And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill, and eat.
14) But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15) And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
This evil doctrine is corrected plainly and powerfully by these Scriptures.
Why then the shrill cries of modern commentators, that no biblical doctrine is affected by deletions from the true text of Holy Scripture?
"Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched."
Mark 9:44"Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched."
Mark 9:46
Doctrine Affected: |
Eternal Punishment of the ungodly |
NASB Margin reads,
"verses 44 and 46 which are identical with verse 48 are omitted by the best ancient mss."
Again the voice of John W. Burgon is heard; "where as they are the worst."
The scripture says;
"In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established"
2Corinthians 13:16
This word of warning is established by the Holy Spirit in three verses. It is erased on two occasions by Westcott and Hort and their unthinking successors in many of the new versions.
These scholars, instead of cutting off their critical hand or foot, or plucking out the scholarly eye that offends doctrinally, and thus to sin, use these same God given instruments to cut off or pluck out the scriptures that are offensive to their spiritually blinded eyes.
"But if ye do not forgive neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."
Mark 11:26
Doctrine Affected: |
Condition for forgiveness of trespasses |
vs 25 - And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
The devil would hide this great truth from the churches in order to further his purpose to stir up a perpetual strife between Christians.
Matthew 6:14-15
14)For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15)But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will you Father forgive your trespasses.
"And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors."
Mark 15:28
Doctrine Affected: |
The Fulfillment of Scriptural Prophecies |
Proof that Bible is the Word of God.
Answer: Fulfilled Scriptures.
"And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.""
Acts 8:37
Doctrine Affected: |
Baptism |
The Deity of Christ |
A) Baptism is definitely for born again believers only. Note the missing words:
"if thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest"
Bible Believers Baptism is:
1Peter 3:21-22
21) The answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Christ
22) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels authorities and powers being made subject unto him."
Mark 16:15-16
15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
"Jonas the prophet"
Mark 16:51991 edition of NASB omits
NIV omits
"Spoken of by Daniel the prophet"
Mark 13:14NASB omits - no marginal notation
Our Lord's word Daniel "the prophet" validates the book of Daniel against all the contradictions of all the scholars.
NIV omits - no marginal note acknowledging that this tremendous statement has been deleted from the text.
"That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, they parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots"
Matthew 27:35NASB omits - with no indication of the robbery.
NIV relegates this powerful attestation to the divine inspiration of Scripture with a tiny footnote:
A few late manuscripts, 'lots that the word spoken by the prophet might be fulfilled': "They divided my garments among themselves and cast lots for my clothing" (Psalm 22:18)
Remember! One of the Great evidences of Biblical inspiration is fulfilled prophecy.
Mark 1:1-3
1)The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
2)As it is written in the prophets Behold I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
3)John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
NASB
As it is written in Isaiah the prophet
A horrible error. Verse 2 is a quote from Malachi 3:1. NASB leaves the error without comment.
NIV
It is written in Isaiah the prophet
The NIV study Bible points out the fact that two prophets are involved but leaves the error in the text.
AV
As it is written in the prophets
Plural, perfectly sets forth the truth; thus excluding the pitiful confusion of the NIV
NASV
Marginal note on Mark 1:1
Many mss omit, the Son of God
NIV small print footnote reads:
Some manuscripts do not have the Son of God
J. Burgon speaks continuously to his greatly inferior Junior scholars
To speak plainly, since the clause is above suspicion, Why are we not rather told so?
Revision Revised P. 132
Note:
Mark 16:16(a)
16(a))He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved
Acts 2:37-38
37)Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38)Then Peter said unto them, Repent , and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
Note: "Repent and be baptized every one of you..."
Clearly the accumulated evidence of Scripture calls for personal repentance and an obedience of a good conscience toward God.
The erroneous and deadly practice of baptizing babies finds no true Biblical grounds to substantiate the doctrine. So the adversary strikes like a serpent at Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:16.
Note the Ethiopians response shows basically and fundamentally the essential doctrine.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
Today there are a great many pulpits, seminaries, and religious movements where Bishops(?), Reverends, and Doctors of Theology proclaim the devils lie ...
Jesus Christ is not the Son of God
Doctrines of devils indeed!
Note - The first one to try to cast doubt about the Deity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the devil himself.
Matthew 3:16-17
16)And Jesus, when he was baptized went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17)And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 4:3
3)And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
The next voice is that of the "old serpent, the devil," hissing out his first of millions of "yea hath God said?" a doubt followed by an outright denial; "ye shall not surely die," followed by an infernal delusion, "ye shall be as gods."
There we have in embryonic form the diabolical basis for the New Age religion
All are Doctrines of devils.
Matthew 24:4-5
4)And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5)For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Million today cry out of diabolical delusion:
I am co-creator ... I am the Christ of God
Hebrews 1:1-3
1)God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets
2)Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3)Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholdling all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
"... by himself"
Hebrews 1:3
Doctrine Affected: |
The Atonement of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ |
Here we have a jewel robbery of major importance. Nearly, if not all new versions delete words that greatly affect the doctrine of the Atonement.
The NIV reads,
After he had provided purification for sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
The NASB reads,
When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Neither of these versions appear to notice that a horrendous jewel robbery has taken place.
No marginal or footnote give the least attention to the deletion of "By Himself" from the teaching.
The omission of "By Himself" from the text throws the door wide open for the Roman Catholic heresy to be brought in to the text at a later date: that is the doctrine that Mary the mother of Jesus was co-redemtress with the Christ of God.
The true reading in the AV effectually prevents such an error from taking hold of the thinking in the minds of Bible believers.
Therefore, it must be very quietly removed from Holy Scripture with not a trace of it ever had been a part of Divine Revelation.
The foregoing is but a portion of the places where the new versions of the Bible mutilate the Holy Scriptures. Who would, in their right mind, trust the salvation of their souls to such obviously perverted publications? Keep in mind there are literally scores of English Versions all differing from the AV and from each other. Is our God the Author of such confusion?
1Corinthians 14:33
